Sun Squad!

It's Cute, Trendy + Best of All, Affordable!
It's Target's New Line of Summer Must Haves!
And I'm All about it!

I Love a Target run just as much as the next girl - their dollar section is where I live. This year, since we can't afford another home project (my dream pool will have to wait), I'm investing in a mini pool for the kids. However, I hate - Hate, everything crayola colored for the little ones. Jewel tones, Gorge. Neutrals, Please! Pastels, Yas! But the typical Pink for Girls, Blue for Boys has never been my thing. Enter MinniDip; I was living for their watercolor soaker - Ps, all their designs are cute and asthetically pleasing - but by the time I got around to ordering one, they were [sadly] sold out. I wound up heading over to my nearest Target to hopefully snatch up whichever style they had left in stock. Luckily, our second choice pattern was still on the shelves, Ink (which is a cute B+W mudcloth design). My only concern was the price tag at $30 - $60 a pop, they are on the high end for little dippers. Depending on where you shop they can even skyrocket to about $80 (for their new design which Are cute...but damn). So, just a minnidip it was. No pool toys. No extras. The following week, I checked online to see what was on sale, to maybe snag some cute kiddie stuff for the summer and came across Target's Sun Squad line. I fell in Love!

Just like any good deal, you have to sift. Some of their stuff borders on cheesy, like their hamburger grill caddy. No offense to anyone who enjoys the kitchsy type of design, it just isn't my taste. However, if you're looking for this seasons trending dessert, palm + pastel or vintage vibe, Sun Squad has you covered! I kicked myself in the ass for not checking them out a week earlier. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE our minnidip but for just about $20 you can snag a pool just as cute. They also have matching floats, towels, foldable chairs, even outdoor rugs and planters! Personally, I'm planning on investing in their dessert items for next summer - I literally LIVE for a good theme. So, do yourself a favor, run don't walk to your nearest store and check it out! Sometimes they have better deals online, my strategy is usually to buy what I can online then check the shelves for any items not sold on their website - usually this way you get the most for your money, and find a better variety with the sale and clearance items. Happy Hunting!
