Fav. No Screen Time Games

That are actually fun!

As school comes to a close and summer vacation nears, I make it a point to cut down on screen time (especially after a year of way more of it than we're all used to) to cultivate an environment of fun and togetherness with [board] games that are entertaining for all ages. And not in a gimmicky lame ass sales person kind of way - these games are L-E-G-I-T. This is a list of our top 5 most exciting games that we have on Steady rotation in our home:

No.1
One Night Ultimate Werewolf

(and it's derivatives) this one is a Great game to play with all groups large and small, including pre-teens. You'll yell and scream and double over with laughter at Just how much you don't trust the people you thought you did. Each time we get together, we play this one over and again, it's such a fan favorite that this game is our number one choice each time it's game night, it's absolutely a Must on the roster.

No.2
Pass The Canvas

played with blank canvases, brushes and paint. This is another fun one, super interactive if you have the supplies needed - although, it can also be played with plain paper and crayons or colored pencils. The point of the canvas is to have the artwork easily displayed once the game is done. Entertaining for groups of all ages (my 5 yr old even joined in). Each person gets a blank canvas and 30-60 seconds to begin a drawing. After the timer goes off, you pass it to your left and the timer begins again. You resume that persons drawing - However You Like - the vision for each painting changes as you pass it along. You play until your canvas comes back to you and the final round is your last minute to put the finishing touches on what your painting has turned out to be. Really fun and a Great time with hilarious souvenirs for everyone.

No.3
The Mind

this is the newest addition to our lineup. Upon first read through, this game seems like it could be a bit boring, or so my 11yr old said. His hesitation to play was REAL; however, it got great reviews so we decided to give it a go. Two minutes into our first round, were we so glad we gave it a shot! We played this game over and over and many times since then. The premise is simple, you play a card at a time, in no particular order, in succession. The goal is to work together rather than playing against each other, to win. That concept is what prompted me to buy and a bucket of laughs later, this game quickly became one of our absolute favorites.

No.4
Dragonwood

is a fantasy game of strategy and luck where you collect sets of adventurer cards to earn dice, which you will use to roll against your opponents. The object is to have the most points at the end of the game. Most times, we play until both dragon cards are won and then end, but there are other options for ending the game as well. It's not a difficult game to learn, my kids 5 - 11 enjoy this game and us adults enjoy playing with them as well. Without giving too much away about the characters and cards involved, I can tell you that it is a great addition to our game collection and one that we highly recommend you add to yours too!

No.5
Googly Eyes

has simple rules with fast gameplay and hilarious results. The game comes with glasses and three sets of lenses that range from mild changes to mind-blowing vision warping fun! A Great twist on classic drawing games that's exciting for people of all ages to play together. This hilarious family game challenges your vision while you attempt to draw while your team tries to guess what you’re drawing before the time runs out. Each player gets a turn to wear the vision distorting glasses while their teammates shout out guesses and once you take the glasses off to see what your final masterpiece was, you will die of laughter.
