Preserving Your Purchase

This may seem like a silly mention, but most jewelry listed on our site is costume. Unless it specifically states otherwise [eg: Gold Plated, Vermeil, Gold Filled etc...]. Therefore Extra Special Care should be taken to keep your baubles looking shiny, fresh, and new (this holds true for our Silver and Gold options as well, but most especially with the aforementioned). If your pieces get wet, are worn during activities where you might sweat excessively, are on when you lotion/oil etc...they can easily become discolored, and stones can dislodge. This isn't likely to happen [immediately] but it is possible [over time]. Refer to our Care page for more details and instructions. We test each of our pieces to be sure it's the highest quality possible in it's category by make. The quality you can expect from our Vermeil pieces will not be the same as it's $12 counterpart; and that's reflected in the price.

Another way to make sure your pieces last and stand the test of time is by an old tried and true method - spray them with a clear varnish. If used correctly, clear spray-on varnishes (or lacquer) can be used to seal jewelry materials, including metal, patinas, wood, and resin and helps to protect it from oxidation and UV. It should always be applied outdoors or in a well-ventilated area and while wearing a mask. Our absolute favorite product is available on Amazon [purchase it here]; it comes with a tarnish removing cloth and a post treatment polishing cloth, well worth the $14 it costs because it's virtually invisible shield leaves zero residue or buildup (if used as directed). This is Easily the absolute best thing you can do to preserve your pieces. It's lightweight, self-leveling, and not only is the treatment inexpensive but [again] it's also unnoticeable to the naked eye. That's a win win if you really love the look of your piece but can't afford to spend big on a "real" lookalike. That being said, we hope you take the necessary steps to care for and ultimately enjoy your pieces as much as we do!
